Frequently Asked Questions

Lip Blushing is a semi-permanent cosmetic procedure that enhances your lips’ natural color and shape. Soft pigments are deposited into the lips using a digital tattooing machine to create a natural, flushed look.
You might be a great candidate for lip blushing if…
  • The natural pigment around the borders of your lips has become lighter or less defined.
  • You’ve experienced uneven lip color due to sun damage, cold sores, or an injury that has affected your lip shape.
  • You desire fuller, more defined lips with a long-lasting, polished appearance.
  • You want a semi-permanent solution to rocking your favorite nude lipstick without the hassle of constant reapplication.
  • Lip blushing can also beautifully complement other enhancements like Botox or fillers, helping you achieve a harmonious, balanced look.
If any of these resonate with you, lip blushing could be the perfect choice!
A topical anesthetic is applied to minimize discomfort during the procedure. Most clients describe the sensation as mild and manageable.
When choosing your color, we consider your exact desired look! Are you looking for a natural lip? Easy to achieve. Are you looking to match your favorite lipstick color you wear every day? Also easy to achieve. Together, we pick the perfect color for you—which is always discussed and confirmed with you before we start any procedure.
The Lip Blushing procedure typically takes 2–3 hours. This includes consultation, pigment selection, and the application process.

Cold sores, also known as fever blisters, are caused by a virus that lies dormant in your skin’s nerve cells. While having cold sores doesn’t necessarily exclude you as a candidate, taking preventive measures is essential to avoid triggering an outbreak after the procedure.

Cold sores may reoccur due to the treated area’s stress, trauma, or inflammation. To minimize this risk, we highly recommend the following steps:

  • L-Lysine Supplement: All clients are advised to take 1,000mg of the over-the-counter L-Lysine daily for at least one week before the procedure. This can help reduce the likelihood of an outbreak.
  • Valtrex Prescription: If you are highly prone to cold sores, consult your doctor about a prescription for Valtrex (valacyclovir), a common antiviral medication used to treat cold sores. You should take Valtrex as follows:
  • 2 Days Before the Procedure: Begin taking the prescribed dose.
  • Day of the Procedure: Take the morning dose as directed.
  • 4 Days After the Procedure: Continue taking the medication as prescribed.

These steps are crucial to support proper healing and prevent an outbreak during the recovery period. We recommend discussing your specific needs with your doctor before scheduling the procedure if you have any concerns.

Lip Blushing generally lasts 2–3 years, depending on factors like skin type, lifestyle, and how well you follow aftercare instructions.

You can expect fuller-looking lips with a natural tint. Initially, the color may appear more intense but will soften to a beautiful, subtle hue as it heals.
